George Bireline Revisited

This exhibition of 31 paintings by Raleigh’s most celebrated artist consists of works from the various stages of the artist’s oeuvre.  There are prime examples of Bireline’s color field, narrative, trompe l’oeil, abstract expressionist,  and purely abstract paintings.  Works by George Bireline are in the collections of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Smithsonian’s American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, the North Carolina Museum of Art, and the Emerson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York, among others.

Exhibition runs December 6 through January 23, 2016.
