Janis Goodman, who teaches art at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., has amassed a new body of work based on her familiar theme of observing nature. Most of the paintings in this new series deal with movement–of water, insects and birds. “She has developed a vocabulary of discrete calligraphic lines as shorthand for movement and energy,” according to an article in Maine Home + Design magazine.
Reception for the Artist, Sunday 14th September, 2-5pm. You can view some of Janis’ earlier work here.
