North Carolina native Hobson Pittman (1899-1972) made his mark as a painter nationally during the first half of the 20th century. This exhibition celebrates his work as well as that of his contemporaries including Sarah Blakeslee, Robert Broderson, Claude Howell, Gregory Ivy, Edith London, Howard Murray, Kenneth Ness, Henry Pearson, Francis Speight, Howard Thomas and Mary Leith Thomas, all of whom were working at the same time as Pittman.
