Vincent Mastracco was born in Rome, NY in 1941 and resided in New York City until the time of his death in 2001. He received his BFA and MFA from Pratt Institute in New York City and also attended University of Miami and New York University.
He was in over 25 group exhibitions including New York University, Bullot Fine Arts, Gallery 13, and OK Harris Gallery in New York City; Bronson-Rollins Gallery in Los Angeles, CA; North Carolina Hospital Foundation in Raleigh, Greenville Museum of Art,, NC; and Philip Samuels Fine Art Gallery in St. Louis, OH.
Mastracco had 9 solo exhibitions including OK Harris Gallery in New York City; OK South Gallery in Miami, FL; Bronson-Rollins Gallery in Los Angeles; Walker Gallery in Concord, MA; and Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH.
He had museum exhibits at Greenville Museum of Art; New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT; DeCordova Museum in Lincoln and Berkshire Museum, MA; Wadsworth Museum in Hartford and Aldrich Museum in Ridgefield, CT. His work is in the collections of Greenville Museum of Art and DeCordova Museum.
Mastracco’s work is in over 14 corporate collections including Macy’s, News America Publishing Inc., IBM, Glaxo Inc., Plastic Management Corp., Publishing Consulting Services, Family Media, Jems Graphics, General Foam Corp., Qualex Inc., and Power Recovery Systems Inc.
He won the DeCordova Museum Purchase Award, Wadsworth Atheneum Ken Davies Award, Perkins Elmer Award for Painting, Reader’s Digest Scholarship, Pratt Institute Scholarship, and Munson Williams Proctor Museum Award.
